 Speech Night Contest Schedule

  • Speech Night
    • Needed by April 8th
      • 2 contestant from each Speech Class
      • 4 online judges from each Speech Class
      • 2 judges from each class for semi-finals.
        • These judges can be the same ones that worked quarter-finals or new people.
    • Schedule
      • Quarter-finals
        • Online 3/15-3/17
        • Contestants will submit their outlines and student judges will evaluate them.
      • Semi-finals
        • Monday, April 20th (SL/LD building)
        • 7:30 pm
        • Live presentations by the semi-finalists with student judges
      • Finals
        • Monday, April 27th
        • Murat Theatre (old national center)
        • 7 pm
        • Student presentations by the finalists, faculty judges
        • Please encourage students to carpool and help those that do not have transportation.
Yes, there are prizes awarded for speech night and extra credit for all our classroom contestants.
 
Participant Extra Credit Points are:
 
Classroom Contestants
30 points for being the class nominee in speech contest.
10 points for being an online judge
15 points for being a judge in the semi-final contest.
(classroom speech contest contestants will have the first opportunity to be judges if they are not the class nominee)
 
These are the prizes awarded in the finals of the speech night contest.
 
1st place =    $1000
2nd place =   $300
3rd place =    $200
Trophies for the top 3, medals for all finalists.
