Comics and Art History

 

In this course, you will discover not only the origins of comics in the US and throughout the World, but also the importance of using a lexicon derived from the art world (elements of art and principles of design) in discussing the visual and cultural properties of each comic/graphic novel.  Many students look forward to taking this course as we cover many superheroes and villains along with so much more relating the to comics industry.  To start our discovery in the Art of Comics, please continue to the next tab in this module.

Every assignment will be listed below the introductory page so you won't need to go looking for quizzes, exams, assignments or discussions.  Tabs for these are listed to the left if you need to access one of these with specificity.  If you have questions about this course, there is a forum under the Discussions tab listed "Questions for the Professor."  Please feel free to ask questions about the course or the course content which you are unsure.  If you have a question about the class, and your classmate's have posted a question similar to yours under this forum, please read the answers I provided there first before emailing me with a similar question.  This forum is to assist everyone with questions about the class.
