(example: This course is structured as a hybrid course.  A hybrid course is one in which some traditional "seat time" has been replaced by online learning activities. Most of the Monday lectures in this course are delivered online. You can watch and listen to the lectures from anywhere. Be sure to listen to the lectures well before your Wednesday lab meeting. The Wednesday labs are all face to face.  The face-to-face and online activities are designed to reinforce, complement, and elaborate one another. You will find that this course takes advantage of the best features of both face-to-face and online learning.)
