IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Welcome to Pharmacology!
Please review the course content throughout the modules
- This is a fast paced course with a great deal of reading so try not to get behind. Readings consists of chapters in the text (required and recommended) and power points in the modules.
- Every week (there are some 2 week modules) you will find the assigned requirements. For discussions, you are expected to respond to one other classmate with a well thought out response. This is part of your module grade.
There are 3 discussions, 7 individual case studies, and 2 exams (midterm-covers content from beginning of class to midterm; final-is comprehensive; majority of content is from modules 7-15. )
- You need to use APA format when you post your responses to the discussions or case studies. Please use references from peered reviewed journals/scholarly references.
- Please form your response in the discussion box by either copying and pasting or creating there rather than post an attachment. This is easier for all to read.
- All module assignments are due on Sunday at 11:59 pm of the respective week (2 week modules are due the Sunday of the 2nd week). Anything posted after that is considered LATE. Please adhere to the schedule. If you have any issues, please notify me ahead of time. Otherwise, no late assignments will be accepted. Please follow the course schedule.
- Email/messages through IU/Canvas are the best way to contact me. I will check in every day unless I inform you otherwise. This is almost exclusively in the evenings after work. On weekends, I check in at various times.
- There are two exams Exam 1 –a midterm and Exam 2- a final. I will respond to questions regarding exam content after everyone has taken the exam. Sometimes these are individual or collective depending upon if many have the same question. The final resource for “correct answers” will be from the texts. Unfortunately, I can not accomodate schedule changes for the exams. Please adjust your schedules.
- Your case studies will be written a paper format including reference page. The length will vary depending upon the diagnosis and plan. For the more complex studies, please attempt to keep the body of the paper to 5 pages or less. This will entail concise meaningful responses in your own words –ie; do not just copy and paste from reference etc.
