How it Works - The Dashboard
Your first view of Genius will be the 'Dashboard' view, and will look like the image below:
You will see a panel of Navigation options at the left side, and several other Information Boxes in the center right.
Let's look at the Information Boxes:
The top row of boxes shows any courses you are enrolled in, each listed in a separate box. Each box shows the course name, your course progress as a percentage, the instructor's name and your start and end date. courses you are taking and the progress you have made.
Below that is a progress bar. At the bottom it shows how many days you have left in the course. The LAUNCH button at bottom will take you directly to the course in Canvas.
Below the course boxes are the Activity and Course Request boxes. Activity shows how much time you have spent in each course. The Course Request box is for Diploma students, and lists any courses you have requested that are waiting to be approved by your advisor.
Next down you will see Gradebook Quality. This shows a simple graphic representation of your grades, with green representing grades above 70% and red representing grades below 50%.
The final box at bottom is Page Views per Course. This graphic shows how many page-views you have generated in each of your courses and should give a rough idea of how much time you are spending in each course.
One last thing to mention is an option to edit your information. To the right of your name (at the top-right corner) you will find a triangle. Click that to reveal a drop-down menu. Choose Edit from that menu and you can change your name or phone number.
