UCET Teaching with Technology Grant

Express Grants: Low-cost items totaling $100 or less, such as headsets and microphones, are being funded through our Teaching with Technology Express Grant.

The UCET Teaching with Technology Grant provides faculty an opportunity to explore the use of technology in their courses. We seek proposals that provide a clear rationale on how the use of a particular hardware and/or software will enhance one's teaching in innovative or creative ways, promote student engagement and discovery, facilitate optimal learning and grow the number of courses where technology integration is key to instruction. Faculty could use these technology tools to develop and teach their face-to-face/on-campus, fully online or hybrid/blended courses. Decisions on who receives funding are made by a review committee composed of faculty from several departments and staff from Instructional Media Services and the University Center for Excellence in Teaching.

The value of the grant is $1200.

We require that all applicants have a brief consultation BEFORE turning in their proposal, in case there is other hardware or software that would be more appropriate for them. The call for proposals for the Spring 2024 UCET Teaching with Technology Grant is open.

Deadline for the next round of proposals is 5pm, Monday, March 18, 2024.

Proposals for the UCET Teaching with Technology Grant are accepted two times a year. Specific dates are announced at the beginning of fall and spring semesters. Faculty can enter proposals for both offerings but will only be awarded one grant per academic year. The UCET Teaching with Technology Grant committee has developed a rubric to review and determine which proposals will be accepted (see link below).

Check the Supported Equipment List 2023 Download Supported Equipment List 2023 for computer hardware configurations and Apple products recommended and supported by UITS. ** Please Note: requests for laptops will first be directed to UITS to determine if lifecycle machines can be replaced/configured in a way to support your needs.
