Opening Keynote Speaker
MJ Han
Myung-Ja (“MJ”) K. Han is a Professor and Metadata Librarian at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a Metadata Librarian, she worked on developing application profiles for digital collections, evaluating and enhancing cataloging and metadata workflows, and developing metadata tools and programs. Her research interests include semantic web and linked data in library data and discovery services, interoperability of metadata, bibliographic control in the digital library environment, and workflow management. Since 2019, she has worked as the Head of Acquisitions and Cataloging Services unit.
Before becoming a librarian, she worked as a reporter and editor in news media.

Pam Seabolt
Pam has had an adventurous library career, and currently works with Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS), as the Manager of Engagement, Consulting, and Training. She has many years of experience in libraries in various capacities, including management, public services, technical services, technology, outreach services, community engagement, and programming. In her work with MCLS, she collaborates with library administration and staff with strategic planning, staff development planning, and other meeting facilitation. She also develops and presents training on various topics of interest to libraries such as community engagement, digital literacy, and other essential workplace and leadership skills such as critical thinking, workplace culture, resilience, and more.
Pam is a certified Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator through the Center for Appreciative Inquiry, and has been trained as a World Café Host and Future Search Facilitator, as well as a Public Innovator through the American Library Association/Harwood Institute’s Public Innovators Lab. Her educational background includes a B.S. in Child Development and Family Studies with a minor in History from Purdue University and an M.L.S. from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.
