M2: W4 | INTERMEDIATE PERFORMANCE \\ Choose an Article

Overview

For your Culminating Performance for this module, you will be annotating a news article from Newsela using a tool called InsertLearning. You will be providing scaffolding to support all readers engage with and understand the text.

The first part of this process is choosing the article you would like to use. Although there is potential for you to change your choice later, please spend the time to identify one that will work for you.

Task

In order to choose your article:

• Visit Newsela create a Newsela account by clicking on the [Join Now] button in the upper right corner of the page. When given the option, select that your role is an educator, not a student (it's OK, you can say you are a teacher), and then complete the sign up using your IU Google account.
• Choose an article, then visit this Google Sheet. Find your name and fill in the information about your selected article.
• Please try to select an article that no one else is doing. 
• Return here to Canvas and enter in the link to your article and a brief description of what interested you about your article.
