THIS INTERMEDIATE PERFORMANCE IS THE SAME AS STEP D2 OF THE MINI-QUEST.
It is important to bring in technology in mindful and culturally relevant sustaining ways, and not just to inject technology because that is an expectation.
There is value in finding places in lessons where technology can make a positive difference. Look through your lessons and identify at least one place in each lesson where you believe that technology would make a positive impact for students.
As you look through your lessons, ask yourself questions based on the principles for Just Technology Use. That is, how would you be using technology to:
- Facilitate sharing, communicating, and deep inquiry?
- Foster empowering knowledge and contributing to the classroom and society?
You are encouraged to try to identify places where the technology would be used in creative ways where learners generate something of value. If your lesson plans do not allow for this, you can discuss the ways you would adapt the lesson to allow this to happen.
You are encouraged to consider the technologies we have used in and out of class, and you may look for appropriate technologies through web searches or by looking through these sources:
- Common Sense Media Technology Reviews
- EdTechTeacher Tools
- FreeTech4Teachers' Technology for Students
- Teaching History Tech for Teachers
Remember to keep the principles of Just Technology Use in mind as you make your decision.
