Instructions
Overview
Your task for the module performance is to create a public service announcement (PSA). PSAs are composed of standard components such as:
- Main Idea
- Emotion
- Facts/Statistics
- Opinions
- Quotations
- Catchphrase(s)
While every PSA may not have each and every component, all PSAs have some of the components.
As an intermediate practice step for creating your own PSA, this activity is an opportunity to see what these components look like in practice in PSAs from the AdCouncil.
Task
In order to accomplish this task:
- Look through the PSA Scripting Template and pay attention to any definitions of components.
- Visit the AdCouncil Campaign Index and select one campaign. Watch at least two of the TV ads in the campaign. Select :30, :60, or :90 for length (if available).
- Look for the PSA components in the ads you watch. You may not find every component in every ad.
- Return here and fill out the organizer based on what you find in the ads.
