Douglas L. Weed, M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D.
Dr. Douglas L. Weed is a physician epidemiologist with 40 years of experience in epidemiology. He is the former Chief, Office of Preventive Oncology at the National Cancer Institute where he directed the Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program. He is now retired from the NCI. He is the founder and managing member of DLW Consulting Services, LLC, a company that specializes in providing expert advice on problems at the interface of science, law, commerce, and public policy.
Dr. Weed is a Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology and past-chair of the ACE Ethics Committee. Currently he is an adjunct full professor at the University of Utah. He has held academic appointments at Johns Hopkins, Georgetown University, and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He is reviews editor of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Weed’s research interests include causal inference and the ethics of epidemiology.
