The course will provide students with the knowledge and practical experience related to the specific area of wellness coaching by integrating evidence-based behavioral models and theories. Students will investigate fitness and wellness trends, health behavior theories and motivational techniques to assist individuals and communities with physical activity interventions. Students will gain practical experience as they practice coaching skills with clients from the IUPUI community. Students will develop the coaching perspective when working with clients to identify values and design goals. This experience will allow them to integrate research-based best practices within coaching individuals and groups.
