Exam 5
Instructions
You have 1 hour 30 minutes to work the exam. If you have not finished at that point, the proctor will alert you that your time is up, and you must stop making any marks on the paper. When this has happened, you will be allowed to use whatever technology you need to take images of your work and attach them. If you finish before the time limit, alert the proctor that you are ready to proceed with attachment. Combine the images as a single PDF the way you do for homework assignments, and attach them to the first question of the exam. This should not take you more than 15 minutes at the very most. If a serious technical issue occurs, that would cause it to take more time, try to document this within the Examity session, and send me your files ASAP.
Please do not spend time writing down on your paper the text of each question. I only need to know which problem you are working and your actual work on the problem.
Examity requirements
The following is the "special instructions" provided to Examity for this exam:
ID Requirements: Government-issued photo IDs and Indiana University student IDs are acceptable for identity verification.
During the exam: No books, notes, or other outside sources are allowed on this exam. Only *non-graphing calculators* are allowed. You will need your own paper, which must be clean and be shown to the proctor. Graph paper is allowed on the exam.
The exam appointment consists of two parts: WORK and SCAN/UPLOAD.
1.) Students have 1 hour 30 minutes to complete the WORK on their exam. The quiz timer is in Canvas is set to 2 hours to allow for the SCAN/UPLOAD process.
2a.) If the student finishes their WORK *before* 1 hour 30 minutes, they should alert the proctor that they are ready to begin the SCAN/UPLOAD process. If the proctor does not respond after a few minutes, the student may go ahead and begin the process.
2b.) If the student has not finished their WORK at 1 hour 30 minutes, then the proctor will tell them to stop and begin the SCAN/UPLOAD process.
3.) During the SCAN/UPLOAD process they have the rest of the appointment time to take images of the work, upload them to cloud storage/their email, and then attach them to the exam in Canvas (using whatever technology they need, including their phone). They should also show the front and back of the first page of their submission to the webcam. Once the SCAN/UPLOAD process begins, students may not mark on their paper.
