In this post, I am going to talk about the so-called PX Project, a revolutionary study technique that allows students to triple the speed of reading and comprehension.

As if that were not enough, the creator of the method says that it can be learned in just 20 minutes.

What is true in all this? Well, that's what I want to talk to you about in this article.

Let's get started. In the meanwhile, explore, Best CBSE Sample Paper Class 12 | Maths Physics Chemistry & All Subjects 2022 -23.

Tim Ferriss, the creator of Project PX

Timothy Ferriss is a famous American lecturer, born in New York, who has emerged in recent years for his books on productivity and time management.

Tim Ferriss is a Princeton graduate who writes books on personal productivity.

His most famous book is the 4-hour workweek, a book that I will review at some point in this space.

That his books are of this type does not speak ill of him. But I like to highlight the separation between his academic training and the commercial vein he found writing these types of books.

During his years at Princeton Ferriss, he developed Project PX. Let's see what it is about next in ISC Specimen MCQs Sample Paper Class 12 For Semester 1 Board Exams 2021-22.

PX Project, what is this study technique about?

To understand how this method works, it is necessary to know how you use your eyes when reading.

Many do not know it, but when you read you may think that you are following a line of text, but in reality, your eyes are making small jumps within the same line. You generally do it word for word.

The more jumps you make with your eyes, the slower you read. And it becomes even slower (up to 30% according to Ferriss) if you also repeat what you read to yourself as if you were reading aloud.

Project PX promises to take you from reading 300 words per minute to over 1000.

This puts your average reading speed between 200 and 300 words per minute.

Project PX proposes that instead of pasting small jumps in the text line, you paste one or two and absorb entire groups of words at a glance. And of course, don't read to yourself. That way, you will move faster through the text.

Project PX promises to increase your reading speed to a staggering 1000+ words per minute. And with the possibility of bringing this number to 3000.

Impressive, don't you think?

Revolutionary study technique or pure smoke?

I'm tempted to tell you it's a big lie but ...

Throwing down Project PX and saying that this study technique is not revolutionary but that it is pure smoke is perhaps too much.

Why?

All speed-reading techniques propose something of this style. This jumping around with your eyes is the basis of this type of study methodology.

The technique on which Proyecto PX is based has existed for many years.

The solution that Tim Ferriss proposes with his PX Project works but it is not revolutionary. Not only that, it is not original either. It is the same as other similar techniques propose to increase reading speed.

Another important issue is that it is a lie that can be learned in 20 minutes. That is, it is possible to understand what to do to be able to consume the texts faster.

However, achieving reading at the speed that this technique promises takes a long time to train. To achieve this, you have to spend hours and hours reading. Some speed-reading techniques even recommend doing exercises with the eyes to achieve movement and increase peripheral vision.

conclusion

The Tim Ferriss technique is not an original technique. It is a more speed-reading technique, as there are so many and so similar.

On the other hand, yes, it is possible to increase the reading speed. I don't know if it is possible to read 3000 words per minute. I believe that some can achieve it, but not all. For this, you can use this technique or any other speed-reading technique.

Finally, I would like to emphasize that the technique can be learned in 20 minutes, but increasing the speed of reading takes years of practice.

And there isn't much more to say about it. If you have any questions, leave me a comment at the end of the article and try to solve Best CBSE Question Bank Class 12 | Maths Physics Chemistry & All Subjects 2022 -23.
