Problem Set 4

The purpose of the homework assignments is to practice and extend our understanding of materials studied in class and in the readings.  Your submission should reflect your own individual efforts, and not those of any of your classmates.  In order to obtain credit, you must attach additional sheets demonstrating your work for each problem, and this work must be clearly written and correct. For decimal answers, report your final answer to two decimal places (hundreds). The assignment does not require use of R, but you need to turn in proof of your work, which can be done by R or by showing your calculations.
