READ CHAPTER THREE IN YOUR TEXTBOOK
After reading this chapter practice your evaluative listening skills by following these steps.
Listen to a short persuasive presentation (any politician or pundit would do). Identify what the speaker is asking the listeners to believe or do. Evaluate the speaker's evidence by considering:
Did the speaker support the claim with evidence?
Did the speaker cite references for the evidence?
Was the evidence accurate?
Does the speaker represent opposing evidence fairly?
Now briefly share your thoughts to your instructor for (10) points. Don't forget to use textbook theory or knowledge and cite your sources.
