The reading assignment (Chapter 9, Oral Health in America) gives additional follow up information to the lesson. It is rather detailed, but gives you a comprehensive picture of the state of dental care in this country. Although the report is from 2000, the framework of the system is basically the same....the numbers have no doubt changed.
Now that you know a bit more about health care in our country and who pays for it....how do we get the millions of Americans who don't have dental insurance the care they need? What solutions might you propose? How could your idea get funded? What can you do as an individual to help?
