Film Discussion Analysis 2
C103 - Love, Race and Conquest
10% of final grade
Due Tuesday November 3rd at 5:45pm (electronic copy)
In this portion of the course, we have seen three feature length films that have exposed you to a number of ideas about myth, love, race, and conquest. Choose a specific scene from each film, and describe in your own words how your chosen scene exemplifies the concepts that define the idea of ‘anti-conquest’ that has been discussed in lecture and discussion section. You must analyze or explain how each film scene you selected exemplifies specific aspects of the anti-conquest narrative discussed in lecture. Note, each filmic scene does not have to demonstrate the same aspect of anticonquest. Make sure you tie all of your examples together using a common theme you learned about in lecture. Write in proper essay format, with a brief introduction and conclusion.
Your paper should be:
o 500-700 words (do not exceed 700 words)
o 12 pt. font
o Double-spaced
o Include your name, class information, and date
o Grammatically correct and without spelling errors
o Turn in an electronic copy on Canvas
Late policy: For every day late, there is a late penalty of one letter grade. Exceptions can be made to the policy by submitting a request for an exemption to the TA. This request must be submitted within three days of the due date and must include a 500 word description of the hospitalization, medical or personal emergency that prevented the student from completing the assignment. It should include why the student could not complete the assignment by the due date and an explanation of how the time was spent between when the assignment was given to students and the due date of the assignment. It is also necessary to supply a third party verification that confirms what is stated in the request narrative.
