Read the assigned chapters in your text. Complete the case study below and submit via this assignment tool. Your final write up should be submitted as single document, submitted as a “Word” or “PDF” document. The submission is limited to 6 pages (title page, no more than 4 pages body of paper, and a reference page). Remember brevity is the key…Clear & Concise. Generally speaking use of headings is a really good idea. If I may suggest the following for a template when completing case study assignments in this course: INTRODUCTION: this section will include the analysis of the case presented to you (remember you’ve been given the diagnosis, you just have to figure out what’s likely going on at this point of contact and layout a reasonable plan—supported by evidence of course); next use the rubric for a guide to minor headings: Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics…. Dosing/Cost/Other Economic Considerations… Follow up/Evaluation Plan. This is just a suggestion based on how my brain works but hopefully you get the idea. Using a process similar to this helps ensure content coverage and aids in clear and concise presentation of thought.

Case Study: Joe Clark is a 56 year old male who presents with a complaint of feeling tired, hungry and increased urination for the past month.  He smokes one PPD and has a history of hypertension that is well controlled.

Patient is in a fasting state.  He takes Accupril 40mg po daily and an occasional baby aspirin. He denies dizziness, chest pain, or shortness of breath. He has been under increased stress at work.

He denies a family history of diabetes.

 may use a child with type 1 diabetes and thyroid disorder; do not need to address lipids
