Course Expectation:
- Attendance and participation at all classes is expected for this interactive course. There will be times that you will be asked to assume the role of an elementary student or teacher, also you will be an active member of discussion/reflection group activities.
- Positive attitude should be displayed as we grow together. Music will be used as a tool for classroom management, integrated into lessons for academic growth, and experience in performance learning. Music is fun!
- Reading assignments should be completed as class prep for participation activities.
- A cooperative teaching lesson plan implementing music as part of the classroom experience will be taught by teaching teams on assigned dates. Individual grades given.
- A resource file of music activities and pertinent information will be created by each student as a significant part of the end of course final exam.
Course Objectives: Student will
- Experience activities of Fine Arts integration as a tool for classroom management, academic growth, performance enhancement, and aesthetic understanding.
- Learn basic music terms and treble clef notation.
- Participate in a variety of music activities as a cooperative member of the classroom.
- Teach music as a curricular and cross- curricular learning experience.
- Create and develop a resource file of music activities for the classroom.
