Course Description

In this course, you will explore the history of the world from the earliest human civilizations through the 1300s CE. As it is impossible to cover every event and occurrence over thousands of years, we will focus on events and developments that affected large numbers of people at the time and in the future. Another focus will be how and why cultures affect and influence each other. You will explore the past through the use of primary and secondary sources as well as through the lens of a social theme. A key component of this course will be reflecting upon your learning. In addition, you will interact with your classmates to provide feedback, questions, and commenting to enhance everyone's learning. There will also be three unit assessments. This course is organized by modules. In each module, you will find lessons, assignments, discussion topics, self-assessment opportunities (ungraded), and a module assessment (graded). You should go through the modules and the content in each module in the order in which it is presented.
