Journal Reflection 1

Assignment Objective

Journal reflection papers provide students with the opportunity to deeply explain and critically analyze the assigned readings and reflect on the intersections between these readings and professional experiences and current societal issues affecting organizations and organizational members.

Instructions

1. Identify an organizational theory/concept from Weeks 1-3 that stands out to you as particularly useful/novel (e.g., structuration theory, rationality).
2. Briefly define the theory/concept and then explain what it is about it that you are drawn to (e.g., have you experienced a situation in your professional life that can be explained by this theory/concept, do you see this theory/concept being played out in a particular organization).
3. Discuss how researchers should further examine this theory/concept. Provide examples and be specific.

Your reflection paper must follow these formatting guidelines:

1. 1500 - 2000 words
2. Times New Roman, 12-point font
3. Double-spaced
4. Appropriate citations included both in-text and as a reference list in APA style
5. 1-inch margins
6. Submitted as a .doc/.docx/.pdf via Canvas
