Welcome Page
Welcome to the Information Literacy Online Toolkit, a cross-campus initiative to provide all Indiana University instructors with an introduction to information literacy practices that promote critical thinking.
The Information Literacy Online Toolkit is designed to familiarize instructors with the frameworks of information literacy. For instructors, the Toolkit will provide a pathway to integrate information literacy principles into student coursework through sample assignments and rubrics to consider. The Toolkit will provide modules and other tutorials to import into your courses to help students discern online information as creditable, reliable and authentic; or put more simply, how to separate fact from fiction.
With the toolkit, instructors can:
- Use existing Modules for student’s to explore concepts of information literacy
- Build off existing Assignments for students to complete
- Embed the modules and/or assignments into their course’s Canvas page
- Evaluate their student’s work with Rubrics designed to assess information literacy skills
- Share out their experiences with the materials in Discussions
You can learn more about each of these functions by reading our Learning Outcomes for Instructors.
