MSW Direct Student e-Orientation

Course Description

This course provides students with key information about the MSW Direct program, including requirements and expectations. It helps students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully navigate an online course in the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). It provides them with opportunities to practice using the tools and technologies that they will be expected to use throughout their student career in the program, and it allows them the opportunity to interact with MSW Direct faculty to ask any questions about the program or the technologies used therein. 

Course Objectives

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Adhere the requirements set forth in the e-Orientation policy
  • Identify how you will make time for your coursework, including your S.M.A.R.T. goals toward this end
  • Demonstrate good netiquette and email etiquette
  • Understand plagiarism and how to avoid it
  • Demonstrate the ability to navigate Canvas
  • Demonstrate the ability to use eTexts, CN Post, discussion forums, Kaltura, Zoom, and Turnitin
  • Complete your academic plan
  • Make an advising appointment
