Course Description: This program is a 3-credit-hour elective course designed to help students develop a critical appreciation of both the opportunities and challenges in dealing with the South Korean market. The instructional program includes 14 weeks of pre-travel theoretical and practical instruction, 12 days of overseas experience in South Korea and its surroundings, and post-travel debriefing, application, and critical reflection.
Course Learning Objectives:
- To understand South Korea’s unique cultural, social, economic, political, and environmental situations.
- To appreciate the challenges and opportunities of doing business in South Korea.
- To develop an international business perspective by understanding the similarities and differences in the business environment across the US and South Korea.
- To observe, reflect upon, and articulate conclusions about the business environment and business practices in South Korea.

- Semester: Spring 2023
- Online Course: BUS-X 485: Technology, Design, and Business in South Korea. No Prerequisites. Instructor approval is required.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA with no disciplinary issues (or consent of instructor)

[1] For the Gilman scholarship, you need to be a Pell Grant recipient and a US citizen to apply.
