Procedure to Apply and Enroll

The Costa Rica program fee should appear on your bursar's account by the 3rd Thursday of August 2024. The total fees for the program will be on the due date for your regular tuition and fees, which is September 10. You have the option to apply for a payment plan. For more questions about this, please get in touch with the Office of Financial Aid.

Letter of Intent (send to fburgos@iu.edu)

This letter needs to include:

  • Your first & last name, email, Student ID#
  • Two references (i.e., name and contact information of an IU East full-time instructor we could contact if need be)

Points to address in the letter:

  • Why do you want to study abroad?
  • What would be the benefits of this study abroad?
  • Why do you want to go to Costa Rica?
  • How will this study abroad program contribute to your overall academic/career goals?
  • What would be the anticipated long-term effect of this study abroad program on your study and/or career plans?
