Description

Students will conduct research toward their theses or reports.  Course content and progress are individualized and will be be discussed in detail with the students’ advisors and research committees.

Requirements and grading

Students will make progress on research toward a product, usually a dissertation, thesis, report, or peer-reviewed publication.  Grades will be assigned by instructors as follows:

S or A:  The work done during the semester was satisfactory.

U or F:  The work done during the semester was unsatisfactory.

R:  The scope of work spans multiple semesters, so it is not possible to assess whether the work was satisfactory.  Upon completion of the work, all R grades will be changed to one of the above grades.

Policies

Course policies will be articulated by the instructor/advisor.  Additional university policies can be found here:  https://studentcentral.indiana.edu/policies/
