UPDATED DISCUSSION ASSIGNMENT: Hey everyone, after seeing how the interactions across "The Wall" (or lack of interactions) I am much more interested this week to hear/see what you have to say about "The Wall". Therefore for this week, you must do two things (1) Post discussion- see topics expected to be covered below and (2) Respond to another classmate's post. Details below:
POST DISCUSSION ON:
1. Tell us about a time, so far, when (a) you really enjoyed the original question/debate posted or (b) have not been thrilled by the original question/debate posted. MAKE SURE to be specific (i.e., What was the original question/debate posed and what could have been done to improve it?).
2. What do you think of this platform for civic engagement? Knowing what you know, so far, about "Citizenship in the 21st Century" how does this platform help or hinder citizen engagement? Is it perfect, if so why? Does it lack certain qualities that could make it better/more engaging/more interesting, if so what would you suggest? IN ALL: Reflect on the platform itself (an online place to engage in debate, a 140 character limit on your response, and the opportunity to include a photo tied to your response).
3. Suggest a question/debate for "The Wall". You can do this one of two ways:
a. Make a suggestion here through our discussion and/or
b. Attach, to this discussion, a picture of you submitting your suggestion via "The Wall" website. See here for how to suggest a question/debate. Links to an external site.
RESPOND TO ANOTHER CLASSMATES reflection on "The Wall"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ORIGINAL DISCUSSION (you are not required to respond to this, but if you wish please do respond): First, you must answer "The Wall" question for this week, before you even begin this discussion. After you're done with that, tell us here why, in detail, you answered the question that way ("Yes" or "No"). After you tell us specifics of your response to the question, in 5-7 sentences, tell us, on the same post, a social issue that you are most interested in or passionate about, and tell us ways in which a three-branch government, has or has not stymied progress on that issue. Remember, this also has to be in 5-7 sentences. So your first post should consist of total 10-14 sentences.
