Week 02: Introduction Speech Delivery

Proverb Speech Delivery: 

You are now prepared to present your Proverb Speech. You should have practiced presenting this speech to your friends and family. It's now time to shine. You will be permitted one note-card (3x5) from which to present your speech, as noted in the speech directions. *Do not write word for word your entire speech. They are note cards to help you through the speech, not read from them. You also are not permitted to read from your outline.

If you have practiced the speech over 10 times in front of your friends and family, you should be comfortable with the material and note card: you do not need to try to memorize the speech. We prefer you use an extemporaneous speaking technique in which you get comfortable with conversational delivery of material using only prompts (like the note card). Remember, your first impressions are lasting impressions. You will have 2-3 minutes to present your speech. Your goal is to hit around 2 1/2 minutes.

When you are ready to begin recording your speech, click Submit Assignment on the right side of the screen. Next, click Record/Upload Media. It will then prompt you with a box that says, it needs Camera and Microphone Access, click allow! You want to update the Title Box of your video recording to say – Proverb Speech – Student Last Name, First Name. (Example: Proverb Speech - Doe, John).
