Question of Fact Speech Delivery
This week, you will deliver your Question of Fact Speeches "LIVE" in the virtual classroom at your assigned speech recitation time. Your instructor will load your PowerPoint into the online classroom for you and give you presenter access in the virtual classroom which allows you to advance your PowerPoint during your presentation. You will deliver your Question of Fact Speech to your virtual classmates.
You were asked to rehearse your speech this past weekend to feel confident and manage your timing. You will be allowed 4-5 minutes to deliver your speech. You will only be permitted to use 3 note cards during your speech. You will not be allowed to read from your written outline. It is important to remember to cite your sources (at least 3) in your delivery as you did in your outline. We will be listening for these source citations. Please make sure you review the grading rubric; you can find the rubric in your course textbook on page 285. Your instructor will use the rubric to evaluate your performance. If you have any questions, please let your instructor know.
Peer Feedback:
Your classmates will be watching "LIVE" as you present your speech this week. They will be asked to give you positive comments about the things that you did well along with constructive criticism on areas that you may improve. Remember, we are in this class to improve our public speaking skills. We have to learn from the critique that our audience members give us, so that we can improve for our next speech. This is our chance to help others. Please give honest feedback of your peers so that we can learn and grow together. A speech critique that says a speaker did great each time does not benefit the presenter. Your role as an audience member is to watch the speech and offer feedback that will help your classmates improve.
