Outdoor Recreation Site Visit and Management Issue Assessment
Visit an outdoor recreation site (this can be a national, state, or municipal park, an outfitter facility, an adventure course, a zipline, a trail, a reservoir, a nature center, etc.). While you are visiting the site, identify one management issue that is being or should be addressed. Take a photograph or photographs that illustrate the issue. The management issue could fall under the categories of wildlife, fire, water resources, invasive species, infrastructure, visitor services, safety, construction, and site development, among others.
Create a slide or slides (Power Point, Keynote, Google Docs, etc.) that includes your photograph that illustrated the management issue and identifies the site you visited. Include any appropriate description of the management issue you have identified. Also include points on your suggested management action to address the issue. Include in your slide/slides a “selfie” of yourself at the site you have visited.
Submit your slide or slides through Canvas by 8:00am on Monday November 16.
You will each have approximately two-three minutes to present your management issue as part of our class “lecture” on Tuesday November 17 and Thursday November 19.
