At Indiana University you have several people on your team.
You will have access to Academic Advisors and Career Coaches throughout your academic career. We recommend you meet with an advisor each semester to touch base about your plans and progress. During your advising appointment we break down the Degrees/Certificates/minorLinks to an external site. you are working toward. If you have interests outside of PBS, we also suggest looking into additional programs across campusLinks to an external site.. You may need to reach out to other academic advising offices to declare your additional interests.
Academic Advising is an ongoing process designed to help you with your academic plans. We help you reflect, plan ahead, coordinate courses with other components of your degree such as minors or certificates. We also serve to clarify academic policies, connect you with support services, and help you identify your academic, career, and co-curricular goals. Not only do we make recommendations, we work in collaboration with you! You are an active part of your educational planning! Come prepared to discuss future goals, interests, academic or career planning, research interests, programs, certificates, and any questions you may have. We may refer you to other academic advisors or the Walter Center based on your interests. We can also refer you to support services on campus, such as tutoring, personal counseling, and time management assistance.
