The Bulletin
Your specific requirements are listed in the Bulletin Links to an external site.. This is like a playbook or instruction manual providing an outline of your requirements. You will want to choose the Bulletin based on your entry year for attending IUB.

Academic Advisement Report
Your Academic Advisement Report Links to an external site. (AAR) is a tool to help track your progress toward degree completion. The AAR shows your progress toward academic requirements of all majors, minors, or certificates that you have officially declared.

How to know if something is complete or not?
- Requirements listed as "Satisfied" in black text mean you have met the requirement.
- Requirements not satisfied will be "Not Satisfied" in red text.
- Be aware that some courses may be inaccurately listed if you are repeating a course or a credit (some related classes only allow one type of course to have credit), or if you have transfer credit (FAQ link). Be sure to check in with the advising office if you have any questions.
This tool is one way to track your remaining requirements.
Some courses do not automatically fall into their specific requirement areas. If you find any errors or strange codes/notes on your AAR please check out the FAQ.

General Education
The IU General Education Curriculum requirements apply to all IU Bloomington undergraduate students. There are several categories for General Education courses (Links to an external site.). Some General Education requirements may be fulfilled by school or major courses. If you have any questions, please be sure to check in with an academic advisor.

- Mathematical Modeling (MM)
- Arts & Humanities (AH)
- Social & Historical Studies (SH)
- Natural & Math Sciences (NM)
- World Languages & Cultures (WC)
PBS Degrees & CASE Requirements
PBS offers 2 types of degrees.
- Bachelor of Arts (BA)
- Bachelor of Science (BS)
In addition to General Education and major requirements, you will be required to meet College of Arts and Science Education (CASE) requirements.
These requirements are:
- English Composition
- Mathematical Modeling
- CASE Breadth of Inquiry
- CASE Culture Studies (requirements will depend on specific degree)
- Critical Approaches
- Foreign Language (level of completion depends on specific degree)
- Intensive Writing
- Public Oral Communication
