Activity: Review your course for beginning of the term data and opportunities
Identify a Canvas course that you are teaching or have taught in the past (one that contains student data) and plan to teach in the future: use your course site to explore tools and the learning data they make available.
Use the blueprint for using learning data at the beginning of the term to review your course data.
- What patterns of activity do you see at the beginning of the term that might indicate habits that will help or hinder students?
- Are students accessing important content?
- Do you see any outliers that make you curious?
- Is your course designed so that you and your students can benefit from data generated in the first weeks of the class?
- List two ways you could make use of data to inform teaching at the beginning of the term.
