Asynchronous Components
In between meetings, we'll work independently on our courses and keep the discussion going using Canvas discussion boards. We have brought in some content from IU's Teaching Online Series, a self-paced course is for anyone at Indiana University developing and/or teaching an online course. It explores the concept of backwards design as a model for planning and developing your course by beginning with learning outcomes, followed by assessments, activities, and content. It also includes topics such as online presence, course structure, usability, visual design, accessibility, multimedia, syllabi, and course management.
While the content focuses on supporting online instructors, the strategies we've chosen to highlight work no matter the modality. For all the content, you can enroll in the course in IU Expand to work through the modules at your own pace.
