This time I return to the subject of memory, to talk in this case about the mnemonic rules.

Unfortunately, our educational system promotes the use of memory and rewards those who have the most. Memory can be trained, but it is known that there are people who have a facility to memorize and others who do not.For Latest CBSE MCQs Sample Paper Class 10 For Term 1 Board Exams 2021-22, Click Here.

The need to train memory

People with eidetic (also called photographic) memory have a huge advantage over others and can memorize insignificant details past years and even entire books by reading them just once.

Does that make them more capable? Do the most powerful people in the world have this kind of memory, who dominate it?

No. What happens is that our educational system focuses too much on memory and those who master it will pass the levels of education much more easily.

We can memorize by association or through repetition by studying with flashcards. We can also study by reasoning, which is better than studying by heart.

However, sometimes we need some extra help so that our brains better remember what we study. What, then, do we humans do that we don't have the facility to memorize? We must train our memory and the best way is with tricks like the mnemonic rules to perform best in CBSE MCQs Class 10.

Mnemonic rules

They are memorization techniques that can make a person memorize a phrase or a multi-digit number in a matter of seconds. There is no magic here, you just have to apply the existing methods.

Taking advantage of a mnemonic rule, you will not easily remember something, but you will find a way to save it in your memory so that when you need it, you will know how to obtain it and then yes, remember it.

A mnemonic rule is a trick that makes it easy to remember information.

Examples of mnemonic rules

Memorizing phrases

The easiest case of a mnemonic is when you have to memorize a phrase or a set of words in sequence. You can take the first letter of each word that makes up the sentence and build a new word with it.

For example, if you have to memorize the following animals in no particular order: rhinoceros, zebra, otter, orangutan, eagle, alligator; you could put together the word Crayon.

This rule is too simple. In case the words are complicated, you can use the first syllable or in case there are many words, try to put together a phrase that is easy to memorize that would help you out in solving CBSE MCQs Sample Paper Class 10 For Term 1 Board Exams 2021-22.

Memorizing numbers

If you need to memorize numbers, there is a very easy way to do it.

Imagine that you need to memorize the famous number pi. There is a simple way to store numbers in memory and it is to define a word for each number that has the number of letters that the number itself indicates.

Choose words that form a complete sentence from all of them. Let's see it better with an example:

3,14159265…
I am π, an ingenious motto and reason, of a wise man…

The word "I am" has three letters and is equivalent to the number 3. The symbol pi is a single character, so it is equivalent to the number 1. The word "motto" has four letters and is equivalent to the number 4. And so on with the other numbers.

If you came across a zero, you could define a standard word or some specific pattern for it. For example, use words that start with C.

Known mnemonic rules

Over time, many students have developed different mnemonic rules for each of the subjects of study. Maybe you remember one from Primary school.

Well, they are still used in high school and college as well. It is a matter of looking for the ones in the area you are studying.

Apply the rules and train your memory

The world increasingly tends not to give greater importance to memory. However, in some respects, especially in formal education, memory is still key to passing exams.

For this reason, training your memory is something that can give you positive results in your studies.I hope that the keys that you have read in this article are useful to you.I also invite you to follow us on social networks.
